Flight Nurse

Job Description

Flight Nurses are responsible for the safety of patients prior to and during transport to medical care facilities. This includes provision of basic as well as advanced life support measures required to stabilize critically ill or injured patients. Flight nurses must have the ability to establish positive interpersonal and professional relationships. This is a “Safety-Sensitive” Position. A.R.S. § 23-493.06  

  • Maintain standards of safety for patients and crew.
  • Provide basic and advanced patient care prior to and during transport.
  • Provide compassionate and efficient patient care.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS or equivalent
  • Nursing licensure and current certifications
  • NRP and adult trauma training
  • Three years’ experience in critical care, emergency department, and/or special care areas
  • Be able to regularly lift, move and push up to 150 pounds
  • Maintain a duty weight of no more than 185 pounds

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Professional certification (i.e. CCRN, CEN, and CFRN) preferred; required after two years of employment
  • Flight Experience.

Flight Paramedic

Job Description

We are currently in search of a qualified Critical Care Paramedic to work in our clinic. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in either a 911, emergency department, or clinic. The candidate should also have availability, at minimum, of 2-3 days per week, have reliable transportation, and be able to provide their availability 2-4 weeks in advance. Must have a strong work ethic and the ability to work as a team player. This is a “Safety-Sensitive” Position. A.R.S. § 23-493.06  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Obtain vital signs
  • Complete a full medical history assessment including conditions, medications, and allergies
  • Verify blood thinners have been restricted for the appropriate time frame
  • Obtain IV
  • Post operative care including, but not limited to, obtaining vital signs and administering medications within the scope of practice of a paramedic.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • 3 years experience
  • Current Arizona state paramedic certification
  • AHA ACLS, PALS, BLS
  • CCEMTP
  • NREMTP
  • Critical care experience is a plus
